Both the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Ophthalmology recommend that you get a full eye exam every year, and at Central Oregon Eyecare, we agree.

To us, the mark of a great eye exam is a thorough assessment of your eye health and vision, plus an excellent overall experience. Visit us for comprehensive, primary eye care, or specialty care for eye diseases, and bring the whole family — our warm, friendly staff will make everyone feel at home.

We offer eye exams in Bend, Madras, Prineville, Redmond, and Sisters, OR.

Eye Exams in Central Oregon

Eye Health Screenings

Our eye exams start with the most important component of your vision: you. Our eye doctors will ask you about your sight, any symptoms or vision issues you may be experiencing, what medications you’re taking, and your overall health. Taking this into consideration with our knowledge of your family history and past eye exams, we’ll make sure we have all the information we need to make informed decisions about your eyes.

We use the latest diagnostic equipment, and take extra time to dig a little deeper into your situation, because we believe that this makes the difference between adequate and exceptional eye care. It also allows us to better keep you informed about your treatment, because we stand by our commitment to educating our patients on their eyes.

Vision Testing and Eyewear

Your vision prescription changes from year to year, and so do the ways in which you use your eyes. We’ll test your eyes at different working distances and discuss your eyewear needs before determining which eyeglasses, contact lenses, or sunglasses will work best for you.

We offer a variety of exclusive, independent, and customized eyewear options: we have the most technologically advanced lenses, including progressive lenses, blue light lenses, polarized lenses, and anti-fatigue lenses. We carry a variety of specialized contacts that can protect your eyes as you go about your daily life. And, it doesn’t hurt that our fashion-forward collection of frames has plenty of options that will fit within your budget while enabling you to accentuate your style.

Eye Function Testing

Your eyes’ ability to focus is only one aspect of your vision. Our optometrists will also evaluate your depth perception, color vision, eye muscles, peripheral vision, and light sensitivity, to make sure every aspect of your eye care is addressed.

Eyewear isn’t always the answer to vision issues. In some cases, we’ll prescribe eye exercises and custom vision therapy to alleviate eye strain and help improve eye functionality.

Underlying Eye Health

Some eye diseases and conditions can escalate before they exhibit any noticeable symptoms, but with our advanced testing equipment and experienced eye doctors, we can detect these issues early and provide advanced procedures, nutritional adjustments, and personalized therapies to prevent or restore lost vision.

At Central Oregon, we’re committed to continuously investing in state-of-the-art technology that improves your eye care. With sophisticated tools like our bio-microscope and high-resolution retinal scan, we’ll screen for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, and countless other potential issues.
