Dr. Erin Yamamoto was raised in Dallas, Texas, and attended the University of Oklahoma on a National Merit Scholarship, where she earned her bachelor's degree in biology. She went on to pursue her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where she developed a strong foundation in both primary eye care and the diagnosis and management of ocular disease.
Following optometry school, Dr. Yamamoto moved to the Big Island of Hawaii to work in a busy ophthalmology practice. There, she gained extensive experience in medical eye care, including both pre- and post-surgical management for patients undergoing procedures such as cataract and pterygium surgery. She also treated and monitored a wide range of ocular conditions, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, corneal disease, and other complex eye health issues. This experience strengthened her passion for delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care and helping patients understand and manage their eye health.
Dr. Yamamoto has special clinical interests in pediatric eye care, ocular disease management, and the treatment of dry eye. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and is committed to providing thorough, compassionate care while helping each patient achieve their best possible vision.
In 2025, Dr. Yamamoto and her husband relocated to Bend, where they quickly fell in love with the area’s natural beauty and outdoor lifestyle. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time outdoors with their dogs, cooking, and traveling.
